In the entry-level luxury sedan game, it seems that this year the all-new Lexus IS has been unseating the competition. This comes as a surprise to many considering its all-new, controversial styling and checkered past of Lexus being really good at producing nice appliances but bad driver's cars.

It's clear that the tides have turned at least when you consider the IS350 F Sport.

BUT, what about the all-new Hybrid offering that's a first for the IS class? How does it do and, more importantly, with the Germans bringing diesels to market how does it stand up to them?

Only one way to find out and Auto Express recently did so with a three-way test between an Audi A4 TDI, BMW 3-Series diesel and the all-new Lexus IS Hybrid.
