With autos like the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Jaguar F-Type and upcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC/GT AMG, it seems like there's quite a few offerings in this class now. But if anyone's aiming to produce the most racecar-like vehicle, my money would be with McLaren. It's in the company's DNA.
Said to be smaller than the MP4-12C and focused on being a lightweight auto, it is expected to put up great performance numbers despite only pushing 450 horsepower from McLaren's 3.8-liter V8 powerplant.
While there haven't been many spy shots of the auto yet, there's one set of images of an MP4-12C bodied mule making their way around the web. We posted them when the prototype photographs first came out way back when.
No official word on when we'll first see it though rumblings have hinted at a reveal in 2014. Time will tell.
