The thing you have to love about supercars at this level — sometimes known as "hypercars" — is that they really are feats of engineering. The latest three autos to debut at about the same time are the McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. If we were betting on a winner though, we'd put our money on the McLaren.

Not only does the marque have a whole lot of weight on its shoulders after launching the much loved F1, it also bears the brunt of building the world's best car on the ROAD and on the TRACK.

To accomplish this, technology had to be taken from rocket science and also extreme weight savings would need to be considered. Take, for example, this video that highlights some of the amazing elements that make the P1 a shoe-in for the world's best. It notes that the windshield glass is thinner than a standard car and how the interior's carbon fiber trim lacks the resin coating to save about 3.5 and 1.5 kilos, respectfully.
