The Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class has been one of the brand's most popular products in its portfolio and in the highly competitive space of entry-level luxury sport-utility vehicles, the current-gen GLK is getting a bit, well, old.

Considering there's an all-new BMW X4 on the way and the Range Rover Evoque has been nipping away at market share, Mercedes-Benz needs something hot. While the GLA is on the way, it seems that it may conflict with the GLK. So, it appears that the latest spy images are suggesting the GLK will be going upmarket.

How can I tell? Well, it's increasing in size and will be keeping a relatively low-key, conservative styling. It seems at this stage the next-gen GLK will boast a similar footprint to the original M-Class.
