You know, I just got done riffing about the all-new, 2015 Volkswagen Golf and I ran across this particularly interesting comparison between the all-new, 2014 Mazda 3 and the Ford Focus. That's because the Mazda 3 has always been a particularly good product and now that Mazda's on a product roll with vehicles like the CX-5 and 6 sedan, it needs to execute the company's most prolific model, the 3.

Full disclosure: I guided my significant other and a good friend in the purchase of her 2011 Mazda 3 and his 2013 Mazda 3 sedan. They've both been great autos without any problems.

There's no question that the all-new Mazda 3 looks brilliant from the exterior and also on the inside. I have yet to sit in one and feel around so I have absolutely no clue if its a high-quality interior or "all show, no go." I have to admit I think the 6's interior LOOKS amazing but feels decidedly low rent.

But Mazda's aren't known for their cabins, it's the driving experience that typically has buyers rushing for their checkbooks.

That said, check out the brief review below conducted by Car and Driver as they compare the 2014 Mazda 3 against the likes of the current class leader — as selected by the world famous buff book, the Ford Focus.
