Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, will have in the near future a new subway system designed by the German automaker BMW.
Well not exactly but the automaker operates DesignworksUSA - a global design company that operates worldwide. DesignworksUSA was acquired by BMW in 1995 and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW Group.
German BMW has won a reputation in automobiles and motorcycles, but is no stranger to the aviation market. Now, it has entered the subterranean transportation business, through its network of design studios, DesignworksUSA, which fall under the group’s umbrella. The famous studio has recently designed a new look for San Francisco’s BART trains and now will target the Malaysian capital.
