That's the question Car and Driver asks in their review of the 2007 Infiniti G35...Here's what the article said:
"But the G35 now makes a fine case for itself against the 3-Series, especially as it's likely to be cheaper. The G35 also brings up another comparison, to wit: Why on earth would one buy a Lexus IS350?
The Lexus isn't appreciably quicker, doesn't look as good, and is a fairly anodyne driving experience, whereas the G35 is a very soulful machine.
The Lexus has a more beautifully wrought interior than the G35'(much improved)cabin, but that's about the only advantage."
AUTO SPIES PERSPECTIVE: If you're strictly looking for the driver of the two, we agree with their assessment. But unfortunately, their logic is flawed.
A large number of people today will pick the IS350 for a number of reasons...
There is a bevy of buyers that PREFER a more balanced ride to a feel every brick on the pavement driver.
As lovers of 'driver-based' cars ourselves, we hate to admit it, but it's true.
Car and Driver is also forgetting the 'Experience' side of the purchase decision.
When you compare Infiniti to Lexus here, unfortunately, Ghosn and his clan are thoroughly schooled and drubbed.
Don't ever discount how much of the purchase decision is placed on that alone...
So, who on earth would buy a Lexus IS350?
