This isn't the first time we've seen something like this, but, it happens. At the 2014 Detroit Auto Show we were really impressed with what Nissan brought to the event. Not only did the company have the IDx and IDx NISMO for us to lust after, it also dropped the sheets on the Sport Sedan Concept.
Like a lot of all-new, modern day designs, the Sport Sedan Concept seems to have left great deal of you criticizing it harshly. Considering how cool it was in the flesh, it was disappointing for me to see such negative feedback, but it is what it is.
Personally, I think the car was especially cool. It evokes the vibe of the Nissan GT-R, and assuming it makes it to market as the next-gen Maxima, I am confident this will be the best looking Maxima in at least three generations.
The Maxima hasn't looked good in a LONG time and if Nissan wants to take back the reigns in its class, I think being edgy and daring is good.
It's worked for Hyundai with the Sonata, Mercedes with the CLA-Class and with the Chevrolet Corvette. All of these vehicles blew their sales figures out of the park.
As of now the latest spy shots show the rumored Maxima is taped up quite good. You're going to have to take a nice, long look at these images to get the most out of them. Until the car starts getting unpeeled, get out your magnifying glasses, boys and girls.
