Emerging recently were all-new spy shots of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Convertible. At least, that's what they're being claimed to be. If you ask me, something's not adding up here.
To me it seems like this may actually be the S-Class Convertible folks have been waiting for. Perhaps it could even be a wild card as Mercedes' engineers are having fun.
Long story short, the vehicle pictured is said to be the C and was spotted featuring design cues looking VERY identical to the S-Class Coupe. Check out those rear taillights, the chrome strip and exhaust. All of those bits are either from the S-Class or they have taken some seriously heavy creative license from the company's flagship model.
It's been quite a while since we've seen the S-Class Convertible undergoing testing and given the distance this shot was snapped from, perhaps there was simply a miscommunication about the model. Just a thought.

...Unlike previous prototypes, the one shown above is fitted with production taillights and an uncamouflaged trunk lid. This is our first and best view yet of the C-Class Convertible’s rear fascia and it seems Mercedes designers have turned to the S-Class Coupe when sketching the new compact.
