A car we've been tracking the development of for far too long is the all-new Porsche 911 GT3 RS. As with all things Porsche, these guys really like to take their time during the development process. Can't blame them, they want the car going to market as best as it can be.
While we've seen a lot of the 991 911 GT3 RS in spy shots, the unlikely has happened. A scale model has been shown and it reveals the goods.
Typically Porsche is pretty good about keeping a model under wraps. Remember when Porsche blindsided everyone with the 918? This time the element of surprise has been pretty much killed.
If the scale model pictured below is to be believed, it's clear the vehicle will receive a wider track front and rear. In addition, there will be Turbo-like venting behind the passenger doors as well as in the front fenders. Of course being an RS model, a massive rear spoiler will be present.
We assume carbon ceramic brakes and a striped out interior featuring prominent carbon fiber-backed seats from the 918 will be standard.
Although we suspect Porsche would like to keep this for a European-based auto show, is it possible that the Germans will bring it to the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show? Usually when a leak like this happens a car's debut isn't too far away.
