I think I've made it clear in a plethora of posts in 2014 that I wasn't blown away with the BMW M235i in 2014. Although most publications seem to be getting on their knees to pray to the Bavarian gods, I am just not in that line.
Not at all.
That car is simply a 235i that was pretty ho-hum to me. It was clear that there was room for something with a much more aggressive attitude. That's where the all-new M2 comes in.
Although I speculated that BMW wouldn't build it as the gap would be fairly tight between a theoretical M2 and an M4, I've been proven wrong. As noted in previous stories, it didn't help that BMW's team even told me a 1M follow up wouldn't happen. Clearly they steered me in the wrong direction.
More and more spy shots of the upcoming M2 have surfaced on the web over the past six months, but these are by far the latest and greatest. What appears to be a Valencia Orange example, it's clear that the all-new M car will be equipped with a front valence made for the best breathing possible and, of course, a quad-tipped exhaust will be standard.
In these shots it's clear that this Bavarian will benefit from a large side vent on the front fenders, sport a seriously squat stance and be fitted with a beefy set of wheels/tires.
It's very possible that BMW may be building its very best M car. Because of that, we'll be glued to this vehicle's development like white on rice.
Stay tuned for the latest about the all-new BMW M2!
