I have to say that out of today's mostly formulaic music artists that have songs written for them and rely on an obscene amount of auto tuning, the music industry is in a sad state of affairs. It's funny how it blames the consumer. Pft.
There's still hope though. That's because John Mayer exists. While you may roll your eyes because all you've ever heard is "Your Body is a Wonderland," I suggest you really check out his music. The John Mayer Trio, more specifically. With Pino Palladino on the bass and Steve Jordan beating up the skins, it's an outrageous amount of talent for one space.
I've enclosed one track for your listening pleasure, below.
Onto the automotive content. Mayer posted yesterday via Instagram about his latest acquisition. No, it wasn't a fancy sports car. It's something built off a Ford F-Series chassis that we're assuming is heavily modified. Dubbed the EarthRoamer, it looks like an all-terrain camper mixed with a SWAT vehicle.
It's clear from his other photos that he's using this to travel and even as a mobile studio. It appears Mayer is currently writing all-new material.
So, how much for one of these bad boys? According to reports, anywhere from $300-600,000.
Good luck with the wheels, John! Looking forward to the new material!
I am a proud owner of this most formidable go-anywhere, live-anywhere vehicle. One year and many meetings in the making, she's all mine. Completely hand built in Colorado by extremely talented and innovative men and women. Who knows where I'll end up next. #EarthRoamer #Ford
