A Toyota Tundra bulldozed through soil today in Plano, Texas, breaking ground on the automaker’s new North American headquarters.
Toyota in April said it would relocate the headquarters to Plano from Torrance, Calif. The move will consolidate engineering, sales, marketing, finance and corporate staff.
“Breaking ground in Plano is an exciting and tangible demonstration of the great progress we are making in bringing our major North American business affiliates and leaders together in one location for the first time,” Mike Groff, CEO of Toyota Financial Services, said in a statement. “As we create this best place to work for our people, we will strengthen our ability to put customers first and make a meaningful difference in the communities we are privileged to serve.”
