During the big game on Super Bowl Sunday, everyone was looking forward to the commercials. It's the advertising event of the year. However, if you were watching you may have been disappointed.

That's because this year's ads sucked.

2016 Nissan Maxima

That and Nissan's spot that mostly showcased the all-new LMP1 racecar only gave us a glimpse of the 2016 Nissan Maxima.

We kept an eye on social media platforms and pretty much NO ONE except the automotive media even realized what had just happened. In fact, we're pretty sure 99 percent of the viewers of the spot didn't even catch the Maxima that was supposed to be the payoff of the spot. We brought you three screen shots from the commercial but the vehicle's paint job didn't really make the Maxima shine.

The good news is that Nissan has officially released two better high-resolution images to paint a more accurate picture of the all-new Maxima. Check them out, below!

All-new 2016 Nissan Maxima sports sedan confirmed as the company's Super Bowl XLIX surprise

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nissan today announced that its next-generation Maxima sports sedan was the product that made a cameo appearance at the end of its popular "With Dad" Super Bowl XLIX commercial. The 2016 Nissan Maxima, the brand's flagship product and signature "4-Door Sports Car," will make its official world debut at the New York International Auto Show in April.

The Maxima's dramatic styling features Nissan's new design elements – including the V-motion front end and unique "floating" roof – that first appeared on the 2015 Nissan Murano crossover.
