Automotive interiors are a funny thing with enthusiasts. Some gearheads could care less what the interior space looks like — they want one thing only: speed. Other enthusiasts, like myself, appreciate a well-rounded product with a killer interior.
I mean, I am not going to be commanding my ride from the engine bay, right?
Now I have to admit that I find myself appreciating a nice wood trim in most luxury vehicles. While it seems everyone has a love affair with carbon fiber at the moment, I don’t think I’d ever want that trim in my vehicle. It does nothing for me. While I am a firm believer that certain vehicles are better optioned with certain specifications, I’ve always found myself digging a real oddity.
That would be a Porsche 911 with a full wood interior. Resale be damned, I find it to be a lovely thing.
Having said that, I wager if I told Agent 001 this he’d call me “an old man.” While he opts for PDK and aluminum trim in his personal 911, I’d go for a seven-speed with wood.
What say you, Spies? Is A 911 with WOOD a big MISTAKE?
