After piloting an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante this week, I have to say that I was reminded, once again, why I have such an affinity for the marque. Everything about the car, from the interior to the exhaust note is to die for.

Aston's cars aren't perfect but, man, they're an experience.

I expect the all-new, upcoming GT8 model to be more of the same. To loop you in, the GT8 is essentially going to serve the same purpose as the company's GT12 model.

Essentially, that means it will be a stripped-out, track-going variant. Think of it as a Porsche 911 GT3 or GT3 RS competitor. Clearly, there's still a significant market for vehicles that are hardcore and back-to-basics.

Consumers still have a pulse.

According to what we've heard, only 150 units will be built. Stay tuned as something tells us that official details and images are soon to follow.
