Porsche is a company that demands respect. Not only has it been able to produce stellar products, it has also expanded its product portfolio with great success.
Who knew that its sport-utility vehicles would set the luxury market on fire and essentially force all other high-end luxury and sports car manufacturers to produce an SUV?
The first-gen Panamera proved two things:
1) Porsche could not only build an SUV, but it could also produce a sedan that felt as rewarding to drive as one of its cherished sports cars; and,
2) You didn't need for your all-new car to be good looking to sell.
For what feels like too long now we've spotted the second-gen Panamera undergoing research and developmental testing. It seems like the Stuttgart brand is ready to unveil just what it has in store. In this teaser clip the company showcases how it's gone against the grain over the years with much success.
This is great marketing, no doubt. BUT, we want to know: What does the all-new Panamera NEED to SUCCEED in a world where the Tesla Model S and Mercedes-Benz S-Class are the kings?
For us, it was never just about horsepower. But about more ideas per horsepower. About engines that are more efficient, not bigger. About a design that follows principles, not fashion. About Sports Cars you can drive every day. This is why our engineers and designers have built the next Panamera. With the courage of a new generation. The courage to change.
