As we just noted in a previous thread by Doug DeMuro, while the Ford Focus RS is a hot item, it does cost a pretty penny — about $37,000. When you consider the Mustang GT actually has a cheaper base price — about $33,000 — it makes you wonder why you'd step up into the Focus RS.
You have to remember, though. They're two different flavors.
The Focus RS is a hot hatch with a forced induction four-cylinder engine. The Mustang, however, is a grand tourer with a naturally aspirated V8 motor.
On the drag strip though none of this matters. All that matters is how quick you get to the quarter-mile finish line.
Considering the differences in power and drivetrains, let's see who makes it to the finish line first.
