In the automotive enthusiast community, I’ve learned that anything is possible. Like the old saying goes, “Where’s there’s will, there’s a way.” No kidding.

One Porsche Cayman owner took this a far bit too seriously. That’s because they took a Ford Mustang V8 and stuffed it into the mid-engined Cayman.

Remarkably, it fit.

The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 is well known for being arguably one of the Mustang’s best power plants. Putting out more than 400 horsepower and over 350 lb.-ft. of torque it certainly has some juice.

That said, we’re a wee bit curious what you think of this extreme Porsche makeover. Is it AWESOME or AWFUL?

This Cayman was brought to us for dyno tuning. To be honest, when the call came through we had to double check with the customer to make sure he was sure that is was indeed a Ford Coyote V8 in the belly of the P-car. We got the information from him and the builder. Said we could get it dyno tuned via Lund Racing’s remote tuning services and scheduled it in. When the car arrived, it looked great and sounded even better. We were able to get a final performance number of 428rwhp and 364rwtq. A previously dyno tuned Cayman racer with stock engine was a good comparison to see what was what. That car had layed down 257rwhp and 218rwtq. We thank the owner of the car for choosing us for his tuning needs and congratulate both him and the builder on completion of the swap.
