Will the Mercedes-Benz E55 wagon make it to the US?

Unfortunately the beautiful E 55 wagon will not be coming to the US. I visited with a couple of folks from MBUSA and Mercedes-AMG during the SLR Unlimited test drive at IDIADA outside Barcelona. I was hoping to get an E55 wagon for my wife, who will only drive MBZ wagons. They told me I would have to buy two…one to crash test and one for the wife. Apparently each configuration of any vehicle is required to go through the testing to be brought into the US.
Fortunately the new wagon will come into the US with the 500 engine. Too bad for the E55 wagon…It would be one fun vehicle!
