It seems the Chevrolet Corvette's time has come. Given the latest spy shots we've posted for you of what's perceived to be the next-gen Corvette, it will be going to a mid-engine layout.
This is a HUGE step for one of the industry's most storied sports cars.
One thing we were really taken by was how much it looked like something far more exotic. The more I looked at the images, the more I thought it looked like a Ferrari 458 Italia with more prominent hips.
It seems I am not the only one as an artist has rendered what may be in story for the 2019 model year. According to local news reports in Kentucky, where the Corvette is built, it may be here sooner than originally thought as well. That's because the folks down in BG are saying that the 2019 MY will start production around January 29, 2018.
Perhaps this mid-engine car will arrive as a 2020 model? Or, is this why GM is retooling the plant now? What say you, Spies?
