I promise tonight is not BMW night here at AutoSpies, however, I am particularly enthusiastic about this all-new M car. Dubbed the M3 CS, it is another variant of the almighty M car.

But is it the one to get over the standard car and the GTS?

Armed with a bump in horsepower and torque, the CS also benefits from a new exhaust as well as some lighter parts here and there. It's not drastic but it all adds up to what's expected to be a more focused and intensive M driving experience. Note: An M4 CS will also be joining the ranks in 2018.

Think of the CS as a middler. Much like the Porsche 911 series you have a standard car, the GTS and the full-out GT3. The CS is the equivalent — in my mind — of the 911 GTS.

It's more focused but not going to leave you hanging without the comforts and convenience features one has come to expect of a $70,000-85,000 base price vehicle. That said, I've got to ask: Is this actually the M car to get considering the GTS has some major sticking points such as an awful ride and peculiar water injection system?

What say you, Spies?
