In recent years, I have to say, concept vehicles haven't been all that inspiring. I am not quite sure why but it seems as though that some of the latest concepts just fall flat.
Perhaps designers are just feeling a bit neutered?
That said, when we first set our eyes on the Kia Telluride, well, we fell in love. From the get-go, it's been a vehicle for us that really showed us what Kia is capable of when it wants to try. But, when I first saw it, the first thing I said to Agent 001 was "Well, how watered down do you think it will get?"
While that's an inevitability with all vehicles moving from concept to reality, Kia just seems to execute worse than other automakers. The good news is the the all-new Telluride has made appearances in production form at a fashion show and at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show (LAAS). Sure, it's covered up a bit but it appears this is the real deal.
And, our friends at Kia released a teaser clip featuring both the concept and production vehicle. In it are some glimpses of what's to come.
At the end of the clip I couldn't just help but wonder: Is the Telluride going to be a sport-utility vehicle that people clamor for OR is it just going to wind up being another Stinger — a vehicle that generates buzz but, ultimately, doesn't deliver and costs too much?
