Hyundai has started teasing the 2016 Hyundai Elantra (2016 Hyundai Avante) ahead of its official unveiling later this year. While the official renderings still appear to be hiding a lot of design & styling, a speculative rendering by digital artist Shoeb Kalania fully previews the likely design and styling that the production-spec 2016 Elantra will flaunt.
The sixth generation Elantra, internally known by the codename 'AD', should have its engine and transmission options similar to the third generation Tucson. The all-new Tucson's 176 PS (174 hp) T-GDI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and 141 PS (139 hp) 1.7-litre e-VGT turbo-diesel engine could be offered on the all-new Elantra. The transmission options are expected to include 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automatic.
The sixth generation Elantra will go on sale later this year in South Korea (as the 2016 Hyundai Avante), followed by Europe, North America and other global markets in 2016.
