Last year, we thought the new Ford GT would have 600+ horsepower, but a while after, Horsepower Kings said it would have 620 hp. In September of 2015, Forza Motorsport 6 said as much as 630 hp. Newer rumors have stated as much as 650 or 700 hp, and Ford dealer advertisements are stating 720 hp. With the January 2016 reveal from German magazine "Auto Motor und Sport," the Ford GT will make the most power of any currently available American street-legal production car with 743 PS (metric hp), which translates to approximately 733 bhp, or around 546.5 kW.
Going in par with the McLaren MP4-12C and the BMW M4 GTS, the Ford GT beats plenty of other supercars such as the Audi R8 V10 Plus and the Porsche 911 GT3, lapping a lightning-fast 7:28.081 at Germany's legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. At the track, the Ford GT reportedly reached a "Geprüfte Höchstgeschwindigkeit" (which means "proven speed" in German) of 330 km/h (~ 205 mph), while the Audi R8 V10 Plus only reached 250 km/h (~ 155 mph) when the track was speed-limited.
