Back in March, rumors first broke that Mercedes was considering building a convertible version of its $450,000 SLR supercar. The U.K.'s AutoExpress magazine is now reporting that the car is "well on its way" to entering production, and will be officially unveiled "within six months." That would put the car on target for the Geneva Motor Show in March. The car will take inspiration from the Vision SLR concept, which was first shown ahead of the official SLR coupe launch. AutoExpress says the goal of the SLR convertible is to handle and perform as well as its coupe counterpart.
