Lexus is keeping the LF-A pretty top secret. Even though the car didn’t show up at the Tokyo Motor Show, spy photographers have still managed to catch the car in action and it’s looking closer and closer to the production model.
But is the new LF-A really going to be as unique as we expect? The concept car is neat. Very futuristic. Very Original. And Very Fast. As the production car comes together more and more, will it still be very futuristic and original when it’s rolling off the assembly line? Or will it be more of a copy of the R8 or just less unique and futuristic?
The LF-A is a favorite to me. Edgy, Blocky-yet smooth styling is what I like. And plenty of power. But I’m optimistic about its future. I personally think that the LF-A is losing its originality. I know that it is very rare for a concept car to turn into a production car with minimal changes. If the LF-A is still, as Lexus says, “a super car with world-class performance that is uniquely Lexus.” at the showroom floor, Then I will be very impressed.
“Lexus has long been perceived as the maker of mainstream luxury vehicles, but the unveiling of the IS F and LF-A not only changes this perception, it also introduces a new Lexus marque,” said Bob Carter, Lexus Division group vice president and general manager. “The ‘F’ shared by both vehicles is the signature for a new high-performance marque conceived by an engineering team that dared to turn their dream of ‘a Lexus like no other’ into a reality.” That Lexus like No Other, the LF-A may actually be like many others.
