Electric-vehicle sales surged by 52 percent in Europe in June, led by sales of volume models, which were up by 59 percent, according to preliminary figures from market analyst Dataforce representing 98 percent of European sales.
Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3 were the bestselling EVs for the month, with sales of the Model Y up 43 percent and the Model 3 up 66 percent. Both models have benefited from lower-cost offerings.
The Renault 5 E-Tech was in third place, with sales up 34 percent. Other volume models with big jumps were the Skoda Enyaq in sixth place, with sales up 43 percent, and the seventh-place Leapmotor T03, with sales up 382 percent.
