Honda has confirmed the move in a statement, though the company frames it around “evolving business conditions” rather than the EPA certification issue cited in the leaked plant notice. Both trims are planned to return, and dealer stock should last into early 2027. Honda also clarified that the pause doesn’t affect the range-topping Civic Type R and Integra Type S.
 
 
“Due to evolving business conditions, production of the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired to the 6-speed manual transmission (6MT) will be paused at the conclusion of the 2026 model year,” a Honda spokesperson told us.
