Scion is preparing an Americanized version of the iQ and will probably be available for the North American market by the end of 2010 or early 2011. The new model is expected to cost no more than the Toyota Yaris and will receive some predictable updates for the American market like extended bumpers and recalibrated airbags.

In terms of powerplant we have no confirmation with regards to which will be used for America, we just now that the new iQ will surely not receive a hybrid engine due to high costs and packaging reasons. It is also confirmed that the Big Wheels body kit revealed on the conceptual Scion iQ at the New York Auto Show will not be available in America as standard equipment.
