It was quite a day in the world of technology as Apple did it again with another amazingly successful launch of the new iPhone 5.

And one of the key new features is an improved camera system complete with a sapphire crystal lens cover like that found on fine watches to resist scratching.

But the big question is what do the photos look like that are taken in REAL LIFE?

Does it live up to the hype?

Well we have put together the largest, most comprehensive set of samples on the net for you to judge.

We did NOTHING to the photos.

No retouching, just straight from iPhone 5 to our gallery.



What I noticed from shooting is that the camera is faster, the viewfinder screen is larger and it performs better in lower lighting situations.

Plus the zoom seems to hold more detail and feels much better in the hand and easier to shoot with.

Is it a Leica? No.

But pretty damn good for most people.
