The first Porsche RS Spyder built for a customer team was delivered. The vehicle went to the US-based Dyson Racing team, which, with Porsche support, will field two of the Weissach-developed and built high-tech sports prototypes against strong competition in the 2007 American Le Mans Series. Last season Porsche swept the board with the RS Spyder, claiming all championship titles in the LMP2 category.

Undergoing further improvements over the winter, the RS Spyder, now boasting a good 500 horsepower, was prepared for the challenges of the new season with tests in Le Castellet and Sebring. At the same time, Porsche turned its commitment to customer racing into deeds at the pinnacle of sportscar racing by completing the first RS Spyder for Dyson Racing in the manufacture of the new Porsche Motorsport Centre in Weissach and loading the vehicle for transport across the Atlantic. The second completely hand-built sports prototype will be delivered to the team’s headquarter in the state of New York early February.
