In this AutoSpies-enhanced image, as you can see in our cover shot, we've zoomed in on the interior of the all-new 3-Series undergoing testing. One area that we've noticed something strange going on is with the new navigation screen set up.
That's because it doesn't appear that this centrally mounted screen above the center stack is a navigation screen at all. First, it is not a wide screen like BMW's have featured for several years now. In addition, note that there appears to be a third-party navigation unit placed to the left of this new screen. That leads me to draw one conclusion: the new 3-Series will feature a screen STANDARD without the optional navigation unit.
It's not like this hasn't been done before as some products from Lexus and Infiniti have done this before. It just would be a new direction for BMW to pursue since it is typically known for its Spartan interiors.
