Chevrolet has officially revealed the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500, describing it as the most powerful, capable, and technologically advanced Silverado ever produced. Set to arrive in dealerships later this year, the redesigned full-size pickup combines Chevrolet’s long-standing truck heritage with new powertrains, updated styling, and a significantly upgraded digital experience.

Leading the changes are two new next-generation V8 engines—a 5.7-liter and a 6.6-liter—that build on Chevrolet’s Small Block legacy while delivering increased horsepower and torque. The automaker says the Silverado now offers the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its class. Buyers will also be able to choose an enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax engine paired with a 10-speed transmission, as well as the segment-exclusive 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel.

The 2027 Silverado introduces a streamlined seven-trim lineup consisting of Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, ZR2, and High Country. Chevrolet is placing a stronger emphasis on off-road capability, with three lifted models available across the range.

Visually, the truck receives a complete redesign with a bolder front fascia, new LED lighting signatures, sculpted wheel openings, and a more commanding stance. Chevrolet says the design aims to modernize the Silverado while maintaining the rugged character that has defined the nameplate for decades.
Inside, every model now features a fully digital cockpit with a standard 16.3-inch center touchscreen and 12.2-inch driver display. Higher trims such as the ZR2 and High Country add an 11.5-inch passenger screen, head-up display, and rear camera mirror. Other available features include dual wireless charging, a reconfigurable Multi-Flex center console, and Super Cruise hands-free driving technology with trailering capability.

The off-road-focused ZR2 receives major upgrades, including 35-inch mud-terrain tires, a 2-inch lift, front and rear electronic locking differentials, and Multimatic DSSV dampers. Chevrolet is also offering a ZR2 Bison Edition developed with American Expedition Vehicles, adding skid plates, reinforced bumpers, rocker protection, and beadlock-capable wheels.

For customers seeking premium comfort, the High Country trim introduces Silverado’s first panoramic sunroof, upscale interior materials, real wood trim, and exclusive design details. Meanwhile, Work Truck models remain focused on fleet and commercial users, prioritizing durability, serviceability, and uptime.
According to Chevrolet, the 2027 Silverado 1500 represents the next chapter in the brand’s truck evolution, combining more than 70 years of V8 expertise with modern technology, enhanced capability, and a wider range of choices for truck buyers.

The new Silverado is expected to go on sale before the end of the year.
