A lot of people are somewhat skittish about driving in Italy, esp. in southern Italy and bigger cities.

Italy has just introduced a new highway code that, among other things, requires foreigners to pay fines on the spot, reports Executive Road Warrior magazine.

Other changes include a (somewhat theoretical) improvement in the area of pedestrian right of way.
