The all-new Chevrolet Impala is one of those cars that does the unthinkable. Why? Well, that's because it seems at first glance that General Motors paid closer attention in the development of this product.
Though this review is from The Detroit News, which **may** be a bit bias for obvious reasons, we have to be straightforward: even Consumer Reports recognized the all-new Impala as an outstanding all-new vehicle. I remember Agent 001 being particularly impressed with the Impala when it made its New York Auto Show debut.
And when you think about the competitive set it will go up against, namely the Ford Taurus, Toyota Avalon and Hyundai Azera, it's looking quite good on paper.

The re-engineered 2014 Chevrolet Impala isn’t just new, attractively styled and comfortable to ride in.
It’s the first American-branded car in at least 20 years to be rated the top new sedan by Consumer Reports magazine.
In fact, the Consumer Reports score of 95 for the new Impala was higher than all other cars except the much higher-priced Tesla Model S hatchback and the BMW 135i coupe. Neither of these is a sedan.
