In Maserati's quest to grow its sales volume, we've all been introduced to the mid-size luxury sedan, the Ghibli. Seen as an alternative to the Audi A6/S6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, it is a much more lively product.
Take, for example, its exterior styling. It actually has some panache and reminds me of the outgoing Quattroporte. Then there's the interior. It looks high class and high quality. Sure, a lot of folks have actually complained about the Chrysler-sourced Uconnect system but we're scratching our heads as to WHY that's a problem. Uconnect is one of the BEST infotainment systems, so, why fix something that isn't broken?
But if you really want to sell yourself on the Ghibli, listen to the way it sounds especially in Consumer Reports' first impression video. Not only does it sound great with Sport mode off, when the button is switched on it turns into a complete animal.
From where I am sitting, this Ghibli is starting to make a WHOLE lot of sense in the world of black Audis, BMWs and Mercedes. The Ghibli is the eccentric's pick.
It has a touch of exotica and has WAY MORE cachet than any other product in the mid-size class as it stands. Will that be ENOUGH for the trident to net some sales though?
What say you, Spies?
