If there is one car that will be making its debut in 2011 that should be questioned a bit, it is the 2011 Honda CR-Z. Given that the aim of Honda was to make a hybrid with sporting intentions, it would seem that Team Honda was a bit off the mark.
Oh-kay so they threw in a manual transmission. Big deal. That does not make a car sporty. It just makes a slow car annoying to drive.
Having seen some of the initial driving impressions, it does not seem as though Honda has "nailed it."
The latest to weigh in are the guys at Consumer Reports, who recently got its hands on a CR-Z pre-production vehicle.

There’s a lot of buzz and anticipation from the media and the public regarding the late summer release of Honda’s latest hybrid, the CR-Z coupe. So, to get an early driving impression, our auto testers borrowed a pre-production car from Honda to put through its paces at our Auto Test Center. But, as you’ll see in the accompanying video, they’re not necessarily buying the hype.
While this hybrid is based on the current four-door Honda Insight, the CR-Z has a shorter wheelbase and styling that is a clear homage to the CR-X, Honda’s eye-catching two-seat coupe that was sold in the U.S. from 1984 through 1991. With the CR-Z, Honda is trying to bear out the notion that sporty and fuel-efficient are not mutually exclusive...
